Dr. V Narayanan, an Alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, is appointed as the new Chairperson of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He is currently serving as the Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Thiruvananthapuram. The government has also appointed him as the Secretary of the Department of Space. Prof. Amit Patra, currently the Director of IIT BHU takes over the Additional Charge of the Director, IIT Kharagpur until the regular incumbent takes over or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
